Andover shows grit, determination and spirit in first win of the season
In their home-opener, Andover battled hard, played smart, and masterfully executed a team-approach to the game. After going up 1-0 through Dom Pieroni '28 midway through the first half, the teams were tied 1-1 at halftime. In the second half, a 30-yard screamer into the top bin from Sebastian Chen '29 put Andover up 2-1, but only until St. John's Prep equalized though a PK. However late in the second half, Diego Jing '29 made it 3-2. Andover then locked in and stayed strong to see out the victory. Goalkeeper Michael Attubato '29, defenders Dustin Cho '28, Daniel Matloff '28, Cadel Shin '30 and Lane Fender '29, midfielders James Curley Jr. '29, John Lew '29 and Kayden Robinson '29, along with forwards Owen McQuade '28 and Owen Price '29 also deserve recognition for their efforts in securing the win.
