After Shaky Start, Andover Rebounds To Narrowly Miss 2nd Place

Out of 37 Individual Performances, 5 Season Best and 32 Personal Best

(Lancaster, PA) – From 2017 to 2020, Andover had two runner-up finishes and two championships at the Eastern Championships. Returning to Franklin & Marshall College for the first time since 2020, Andover arrived with much uncertainty. Only eight of the nineteen members of the team were on the squad in 2020, and many of the boys spent many months, if not an entire year, out of the water due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

An inexperienced squad with youthful exuberance, Andover began the meet with a disqualification in the 200 Medley Relay, which was in the mid-1:31 range, after a start that was just a bit aggressive. Yet, Andover quickly and impressively recovered: supporting one another and going on a tear with 32 personal-best and 5 season-best performances out of a total of 37!

These stellar individual performances, plus a couple of gritty relay ones, brought the team back to contention for another championship, but the team feel short. The final scores:
