Olympic Champion Alum Helps Coach Andover
(Andover, MA) – With Andover’s most recent Olympic Gold Medalist in swimming, Andrew Wilson ’12, volunteer coaching on the pool deck, the members of the Andover Boys’ Swimming & Diving Team took on Deerfield at home after a weekend off.
The team had an opportunity to hear from Andrew via his speech at All School Meeting, focusing success and mental health, on Friday, followed by a practice that evening, and a breaststroke clinic Saturday morning before the meet.
Applying much of what Andrew had been talking about, the squad put up many great performances, including starting the meet with two medley relays under 1:35, something Andover had never before done.
Other highlights included Tedy Berman ’25 and David Frahm’s ’26 continuing improvement on the diving board. And it was Senior Day!
With the score 109-34 after the 200 Free Relay, Andover swam non-scoring exhibition the remainder of the meet.
