Andover Beats Kent 42-22
Andover traveled to Kent School for a Saturday afternoon contest. The Big Blue defense forced a 3-and-out on the first possession, giving the offense excellent field position. Andover marched down the field for the first touchdown of the day, capped by a 4-yard touchdown run by Jun An ’27 (PAT Quentin Nicolasien ’27). The Andover defense stopped Kent again on the next series, and the offense took advantage of another short field. Jackson Meehan ’27 hauled in a short pass from Landon Husereau ’28 (PAT Quentin Nicolasien ’27) to take the score to 14-0. The Kent offense found the endzone, tightening the score to 14-7, but Andover answered right away with an exciting 47-yard run by Ubie Zaid ’27 (PAT Quentin Nicolasien ’27), extending the lead to 21-7. Zaid added two other touchdowns in the game, a 45-yard jet sweep (PAT Quentin Nicolasien ’27) and a 57-yard punt return (PAT Quentin Nicolasien ’27), bringing the score to 35-7. Kent added two scores late in the game, and Andover answered with another touchdown in the 4th quarter when Jun An ’27 took the ball in from 6 yards out (PAT Quentin Nicolasien ’27), bringing the final score to 42-22.
Andover moves to 3-1 on the season and returns home next week for a Friday evening game against Suffield.
