Stony Brook got on the board in the top of the first inning after Lopez laid down a sacrifice bunt, and Ciminiello grounded out, each scoring one run. Edwards earned the win for Stony Brook. The righty surrendered one hit and zero runs while, striking out two and walking one. Gilligan took the loss for Big Blue. The starting pitcher went one inning, giving up two runs on one hit, striking out none and walking one. Lippe earned the save. Big Blue were sure handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. McCubrey had the most chances in the field with nine. Ruiz led Stony Brook with two hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. Lopez and Ciminiello were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Stony Brook. Ruiz stole two bases.
