Big Blue defeated Deerfield Academy 8-0 on Saturday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Doherty and Honor each pitched for Big Blue in the game. Honor induced a fly out from Hioe to get the last out. Big Blue got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Callahan singled to right field, Krystofolski singled, and Sanchez hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. Doherty started on the bump for Big Blue. The left hander took a no hitter into the 6th, gave up just the one hit and zero runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking one. Powers opened the game for Deerfield Academy. The hurler allowed five hits and three runs over three innings, striking out three and walking none.
