(Andover, MA) – Today, the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (NISCA) announced the 2023 All-Americans. Although the structure of the awards program has changed over the 62 years of its existence—from recognizing as few as 10 to as many as 170—for more than a decade, NISCA has named each of the top 100 performers in an event as All-American, whether the performer competes for an independent or a public school.

This year, 9 of the Boys’ Swimming and Diving performances achieved the All-American standard. In the illustrious history of Andover swimming, only the 2019 and 2020 squads achieved more standards.

Among the highlights of this year’s awardees, the squad of Oliver Feng ’25, Christopher Xia ’23, Marcel Liu ’23, and Theo Randall ’23 put forth the 10th fastest 200 Medley Relay in the nation this year and the 3rd fastest among independent schools. In the 100 Butterfly, Liu was 23rd across all high-school swimmers and 6th among those racing for independent schools.

In addition, with this year’s recognition, both Theo Randall ’23 and Raphael Sibuet ’24 garnered their 6th All-American Award and join the likes of Andover legends Jon Noll ’66, John Kingery ’75, Brian Fiske ’03, and Sam Donchi ’20, all of whom were also 6-time All-Americans. Sibuet also becomes only the 20th Andover swimmer to be named an All-American in two or more individual events.

Finally, Pippin Kantakom ’25 joins only Jon Noll ’66, Mark List ’74, John Kingery ’75, Brian Fiske ’03, Jun Oh ’12, and Tim Wynter ’14 as a 10th-grade All American in an individual event.
