BIG EAST SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT MVP:

Girls’ Golf, coached by Brian Faulk, Tedd Parker, and Chris Odden and captained by Heyon Choi, earned Andover’s FIRST ever NEPSAC girls’ golf championship on Monday afternoon at the Pippy O’Connor Classic at Simsbury Golf Course. Senior Ann Zhao (pictured) finished 2nd on the day!
Other highlights of the week:
Cycling - Jasjit Hargun '27 was the NERCL Boys C Champion! Eddy Marrero '28 placed 3rd in Boys Cat C, too, and the Andover team placed first in Boys C. The boys' B team placed 3rd in their category, and Matt Robinson '27 placed 3rd individually in Boys B.
Girls JV2 lacrosse earned their first victory of the season, a 12-8 victory over visiting Austin Prep. Shout out to goal scorers: Kyla Zorrilla (3 goals), Corinne Friesen (3 goals), Maya Kou (3 goals), Maija Wood (2 goals), and Juniper Klock (1 goal).
Girls’ JV lacrosse - coached by first-year coach Caroline Galligan and Kassie Bateman - improved their season record to 7-1 with an on-the-road victory at St. Paul's, avenging a loss from earlier in the season. Midfielder Meghan McKiernan '28 dominated the draw, winning five and directing the rest of the draws to her teammates. Big Blue goals were scored by five different players, Meghan McKiernan '28 (4 goals), Ashley Suh '27 (3 goals), and 2 goals from Lauren Kennedy '28, Vanessa Hall '28, and Abi Nager '28.
JV baseball, coached by Matt Lisa and Edwin Escobar, had a thrilling extra-inning win over Phillips Exeter on Phelps Park. Alex Iihara and Liam White combined for 9 strong innings on the mound. Catcher Alistar Fritz-Gruber came through with a walk-off hit in the bottom of the 9th for the team victory.
