ANDOVER, MA – Two weeks after securing its 4th Eastern Championship, the Andover Boys’ Swimming & Diving team won its 8th straight New England Championship.
Despite the program’s focus on Easterns, the swimmers rebounded and achieved many best times. In fact, out of the 30 entries in individual swimming events, 19 were best times! That’s remarkable following such a terrific Easterns.
Among the higlights of the meet were at least one best time by each member of the Class of 2024, Jay Wei’s 9th-Grade record in the 100 Back (51.44), and Daniel Seong’s ’25 School and Pool records in the 100 Breast (55.35).
In the season’s final event, Raphael Sibuet ’24 led off the 400 Free Relay in 44.81, setting a new School Record, and the relay went onto establish a new Pool record. By setting the record in the 100, Raphael became the first person in school history to own all four School records in the Freestyle, which constitutes ½ of all individual swimming events.
