School Record Falls in First Snyder Center Meet Since Early 2020

Phillips Academy Track & Field was overjoyed to host its first interscholastic meet since early 2020 on Saturday, December 11th. The team competed against Andover High School, Wilbraham & Monson Academy, Governor's Academy, and Marianapolis Prep.

The girls' squad finished the day with 87 points to claim the overall victory. Contributing to the girls' team score were twenty-four team members, including five who claimed individuals victories in their events: Kiera Suh '22, Charlotte Whitehurst '22, Kendall Toth '24, Emily Cain '22, and Naima Reid '25 won the long jump, 1- and 2-mile, 1000m, 55m, and 600m respectively.

Senior co-captain Kiera Suh '22 especially impressed the crowd by claiming a new school record and facility record in the long jump, jumping 18', edging out the former Phillips Academy record-- set by Cathy Thomas in 1992-- by an inch. Kiera doubled back on PATF's 4x200m relay team that likewise took the win. Fellow senior co-captain Charlotte Whitehurst '22, moreover, earned 12 points for the girls' team by winning both the mile and 2-mile. In sum, the pair of captains contributed to earning 24 total points for the team across four different events.

Full results will be posted online to Athletic.net in the coming days. PATF will not compete again until 2022, but team members are already excited for PATF's next chance to host in the New Year.
