Andover earns 7-0 shutout win against Choate
Andover faced Choate for the second time this season after beating them 3-0 in the Taft tournament. On Saturday, Andover put together three strong periods, finishing the game with a 7-0 victory. The team showed great depth, with goals coming from 6 different scorers. Senior captain Lilly Feeney ‘20 opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal off an assist from Rachel Neyman ‘22. Gwyn Lapp ‘22 made it 2-0 at the end of the first period, assisted by Feeney. Also picking up goals for Andover were Indi Wagner ’22 (2), Olivia O’Brien ’20, Anna Bargman ’21, and Kylie Quinlan ’20. Assists were tallied by Maddie Silveira ’20 (2), Abby Lamontagne ’21, Bargman, Molly MacQueen ’21, and Rose O’Connor ’20. Andover played strong team defense throughout the game, limiting Choate to 14 shots on the day, and goalies Sophia Merageas ’20 (12 saves) and Katie Wimmer ’21 (2 saves) combined for the shutout. The Big Blue are on the road on Monday for a tilt with cross-town rival Brooks.
