Andover moves to 9-2 with win on the road against Choate

Andover traveled south to Choate Rosemary Hall on Saturday and brought back a 6-1 victory against the Wild Boars. The day started with the teams of Eddie Wang/Chase Burke and Avery Zheng/Kevin Niu picking up wins at #2 and #3 doubles to secure the first point for Andover.

In singles, Andover took convincing victories in #2-#6 singles against a shorthanded Choate squad. After dropping the first game of his match, Eddie Wang reeled off 12 straight games to win 6-1, 6-0 at #2. Co-captain Alex Zhu, Avery Zheng, Jeremy Liao and Kevin Niu followed suit, each losing only three games on their way to straight set victories at #3, #4, #5 and #6 singles, respectively. At #1, Ethan Wong started off hot with a 6-0 first set but was limited by a knee injury and lost in a third set tie-breaker 6-0, 1-6, 0-1 (7).


Andover sits at 9-2 ahead of the New England tournament next weekend.
