Belmont, MA - The BIG BLUE hit the road to open the season against Belmont Hill. Ellis Denby and Garrett Holman kept us organized all afternoon in the back and limited the home side's chances all afternoon. In the first 45 minutes, Andover had control of the game and defensively did not allow the home team a single shot on target. In the second half, the BIG BLUE kept pressing, but Belmont Hill caught us on our heels and went up on the score one-nil on a quick counter. Determined to start the season the right way, Andover pressed forward and tied the game a minute later via Ellis Denby, who buried a corner kick served by Alex Torrens. Andover kept pressuring the home team, but the winning goal eluded us all afternoon, and back home, we traveled with a 1-1 tie. It was a challenging game for the Big Blue, but on the day, we showed character and the ability to stay together and fight to the very end. Next up, Milton Academy.
