Never thought I would start an Andover Boys’ Swimming & Diving post with that.
The Andover Boys’ Swimming and Diving Team was selected to represent the United States in the schools competition of the ISF World Swimming Championships in Rio this week. Each nation is allowed to send only one boys team, and the team must consist of six members.
So, Coach Gardner and I brought Sam Donchi ’20, Lance Freiman ’19, Marcus Lee ’21, Riku Tanaka ’20, and Jack Warden ’19 to Rio as members of Team USA. While here, we joined ten other American high school swimmers who are representing the United States in the “select” competition. Among the ten are three other New England swimmers: Alex Hazlett and Marcus Hodgson of Brunswick and Cristin Earley of Hopkins.
