The Big Blue wrestlers lost all three contests at the Andover Duals at home on Saturday, falling to Brooks School 37-30, Andover High 54-26, and North Andover High School 66-12. The Scarlet Knights of North Andover won all three duals on the day in dominating fashion. In their opener against Brooks, the Big Blue got pins from Gordon Paiva ’20, Jack O’Niel ’19, and Eamon Garrity-Rokous ’20. The meet came down to the last bout, where Ramphis Medina ’19 moved up a weight class and dropped a heart-breaking 1-0 loss in a noble effort. Against the Andover Golden Warriors, the Blue got pins from Matt Suri ’21, Vincent Marino ’19, and Medina, plus major decisions from co-captains Garrity-Rokous and Pablo Sanchez ’19, but Andover High’s strength in the middle weights led them to victory. In their last dual of the day, the Blue took on the Scarlet Knights of North Andover, one of the best teams in the state, and battled hard in the loss. North Andover resident Alex El Adl ’19 and Sanchez recorded pins. For the day, captains Garrity-Rokous and Sanchez led the way, each recording a pin and a major decision. In exhibition matches, Giselle Jones-Mollod and Mateo Ellerman picked up victories. Andover competes next on January 12, in a quad meet at Deerfield with Hyde and Phillips Exeter.
