Wrestlers Finish Fourth at Class "A"

Eight medalists propel the Big Blue

The Phillips Academy wrestling team turned in a strong performance in placing 4th out of 11 teams at the Class A league tournament held in Phillips Exeter Academy’s new Thompson Field House on Saturday. Eight wrestlers earned top-six place finishes, led by co-captain Pierce Bausano’s runner-up finish at 182 pounds. Co-captain Pablo Sanchez and senior Adam Cohen each placed third in their respective weight class. Matt Suri, Marisol Nugent, Nick Masri, and Eamon Garrity-Rokous all placed fourth, and Jack O’Niell sixth. It was the third career Class “A” medal for Bausano, and second apiece for Garrity-Rokous, Sanchez, Cohen, and O’Niell. Phillips Exeter wrestled well in winning their second consecutive team title. Eight Andover wrestlers have qualified to compete in the New England Prep tournament next weekend at Tabor Academy. Those who place top six there qualify for the National Prep tournament the following weekend. Team Scores: 1.Exeter 193, 2.NMH 192, 3.Loomis 131, 4.Andover 118 (of 11 teams)
